WHAT ARE THE LEVELS OF CARE?
INDEPENDENT LIVING:
Independent living for seniors refers to housing arrangements designed specifically for older adults who are still capable of living on their own but desire the convenience, security, and social aspects of a community tailored to their needs. These communities often provide amenities such as housekeeping, transportation services, recreational activities, and meal options.
CONTINUING CARE:
Continuing Care provides a continuum of care as individuals age and their needs change. These facilities offer a range of services and levels of care within one community, allowing seniors to transition smoothly between different levels of care without having to move to a new location. One of the key benefits of continuing care for seniors is the peace of mind it provides to both residents and their families, knowing that they can age in place and receive the appropriate level of care without having to uproot their lives or seek out new accommodations as their needs evolve.
ASSISTED LIVIG / NURSING HOME
A nursing home, aka a skilled nursing facility or long-term care facility, is a residential facility for individuals who require around-the-clock medical care and assistance with daily activities, ie. chronic or severe medical conditions, disabilities, or those who are recovering from surgery or illness and need a higher level of care than can be provided at home or in assisted living facilities. Overall, they provide comprehensive care and support for those who require ongoing medical attention and assistance with daily activities, to improve their quality of life and ensure their safety and well-being.
RESPITE CARE
Respite care is a short-term care service designed to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers who are responsible for the care of a loved one who is elderly, disabled, or chronically ill. It offers caregivers the opportunity to take a break from their caregiving responsibilities while ensuring that their loved ones receive the care and support they need.
MEMORY CARE
Memory care is a specialized form of long-term care designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related disorders. Memory care facilities provide a secure and supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of individuals with memory impairment, offering specialized care, programming, and services to support their cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being.
